Beam

We are so happy with the quality of the Beam Bookcase. The walnut finish is beautiful and the construction is simple and solid.

Perfect addition to our dining room! We found the wine insert and two drawer inserts to be perfect for a dining room space to place extra dishes. The 12" depth is sufficient to hold full wine bottles and casserole dishes for dining.

Beautiful product! No notes! #sweepstakes

We added the Beam Bookcase with inserts to our kitchen nook and have been really happy with it. We used two unequal frame heights side by side, which turned out to be a great call — it adds visual interest to the piece and divides up the storage in a way that works much better for the mix of items we needed to hold, from cookbooks to serving pieces to glassware. The piece is well-made and sturdy, and it matches the rest of our Room & Board furniture beautifully. The openness of the frame allows us ample storage without feeling bulky. The interior cubby and cabinet spaces felt a bit smaller than we expected, but everything fits without issue, and the amount it holds across all the shelves and drawers has been a pleasant surprise. On top of that, we had great customer service from Patrick at the SF store, who made the whole process easy. Highly recommend.

Purchased the Beam System for our TV room. Love it! Smart easy to work with system.

This is a difficult one because I really love the look of the shelves. However, since they are shelves with a thin layer of walnut glued onto the surface, I think the quality control should be more rigorous during that stage of manufacturing. We had 5 shelves out of 15 replaced after noticing obvious defects when we received the sets. The biggest issue and disappointment for me, though, is the weight capacity information. I understand the stated weight limits, but the 36" shelves began bending under the weight of books after only a few days, even though the weight was distributed evenly across the shelf. Since books are a very normal use for shelves, I was surprised that the longer shelves did not hold up better. It seems that the 36" shelves may need either stronger material or additional support in the center. Room&Board's customer service team has honestly been amazing throughout the chat process. They genuinely try to help and find a solution that leaves the customer satisfied, including offering returns for items that do not meet expectations. They clearly understand that their products are expensive and should therefore meet a high standard in both finish and everyday use. I really appreciate the professionalism and willingness to help, even if I was disappointed by some aspects of the shelves themselves.

We ordered this unit to replace a larger, heavier, darker cabinet that overwhelmed our apartment. The lighter oak (we got the salt stain - just lovely) and streamlined look was exactly the right piece and has made our apartment look so much larger and brighter. The ordering and delivery service was excellent. We are a returning customer, having purchased a sofa and chair previously. We will be back!

This bookshelf is awesome, I purchased it with two inserts and couldn't be happier. One of the metal side frames had a small imperfection which was caught at time of delivery. I was contacted quickly by customer service and a technician came out and fixed it on a day that was convenient for me. You can't tell there was ever an issue. Will definitely order more furniture from Room and Board as the customer service is top notch and the pieces are beautiful.

I was looking for shelves to take advantage of narrow space in basement wet bar to hold liquor. This fits bill perfectly. Really pleased with modern look and simple design. #sweepstakes

I converted a bedroom to a guestroom/library. Beam modular shelving created a beautiful, stylish, highly functional space. We also bought a side table and lamp--all beautiful and high quality.
