Too tight half lap door joint, knobs difficult to grasp

Like at least one other reviewer, we found our Hudson vanity to have cabinet doors that rubbed against each other when closed. We're not carpenters, but luckily we have a fantastic one. He said that with use in a moist environment, the solid wood would expand and the doors would end up not closing at all. There wasn't an easy fix by adjusting the original hinges or replacing the hinges. Instead, he trimmed the width of the the doors and lap joint so that they closed properly without rubbing. We also changed the knobs to larger ones that were easier to grasp. If you're considering the Hudson with double cabinet doors, you should also be aware that the doors have a "half lap" design, which means you always have to close one side first.

I was looking for a vanity that I could love for decades, and this is it. With a classic yet modern design and high-quality construction, this piece will blend easily with whatever decor changes I decide to make around it in the next 20-30 years. My contractor had no issues with installation and preferred being able to make cuts where it made the most sense for my plumbing.
Excellent (as always). They were careful, friendly, and efficient.

Seeing the picture online is one thing, seeing it in person, another. It can go one of 3 ways, worst than pictured, same as pictured, or better than pictured. This is a case where the Hudson 48" bath vanity with Rye Stain was better than pictured. I can't think of a better word than stunning. An absolute thing of beauty. Looks very well made and love the color. Also, glad I went with the light gray countertop, good combo with my tile and wall color. Don't hesitate if you are on the fence. Yes it's a little pricier than a lot of vanities out there, but worth it, I believe. I think this company gets a lot of things right that many other companies don't.
The same delivery people who delivered two other pieces of furniture from Room and Board on other trips delivered the vanity, and couldn't have been more careful or respectful handling and placing the vanity.

A Bit Disappointed

This vanity was not as well finished as the furniture we had purchased from Room and Board previously. It's not up to the quality we've seen before.
First the doors meet together way too tightly. The heavy duty European style hinges need adjusting, but we cannot find how to do that either online or on the Room and Board website.
Second, there is stain on the hinges. It appears that the final coat of stain was done after the hinges were installed.
Third, the allowed location for the shelf were inadequate to accommodate the length of the p-trap. We had to develop a solution (adding legs to the shelf). There should be holes lower in the cabinet to accommodate the shelf.

Our contractor hasn't installed this vanity yet, but we unwrapped it to check out the woodwork and it looks beautiful! Solid wood! Haven't taken the vanity and top out of the crate yet as the delivery guys advised us to leave it in there until the installers take it out and place on the positioned vanity (it's heavy with the sink attached), so we haven't peeled the protective plastic layer off that yet. But all looks good from what we can see.
